Standing Up for the 50th District

Our government is broken, and the United States of America is at a crossroads. The elected leaders of this country have taken us in the wrong direction, a dangerous direction.

We need fiercely independent leaders who don't owe anyone anything - except the people they serve. We need practical, common-sense solutions instead of political payoffs. And most importantly we need to stand up for what makes this country great.

I am Francine Busby, and I'm running for Congress because the 50th District deserves a Representative who will have the courage to represent this District with only one agenda, what's best for the 50th District.

Our Founding Fathers were committed to creating a country that would live indefinitely and serve as a light of freedom and justice to the rest of the world. They created an elaborate system of checks and balances that would ensure that no one person, no branch of government, and no organization would have too much power. I imagine that they are turning over in their graves.

The people of the 50th District are some of the most patriotic people that I've ever met. We know that being an American means that we must work at keeping our country great by taking personal responsibility and participating in our Democracy. This country belongs to all of us, and that means that YOU and I have to change the direction of America.

I believe in the power of ordinary people, like you & me, to put this country on the right track again. It's up to us to turn it around NOW. We have the courage. We have the strength. And we have the power. It's not only our right, it's our patriotic duty.

I don't care if you're a Republican or an Independent, or a Democrat. Doing the right thing is not about party allegiance, and it's not about whether you're a moderate, conservative or liberal. It's about courage. This is what we do in America – what makes us great. When our leaders go wildly astray, it's up to us ordinary folks to fix the problem.

As a long time citizen and leader in the 50th District, I pledge to serve you with integrity, strength and common sense. I will speak up and cast my votes on your behalf. Even if I am the lone voice in the House of Representatives, know I will always stand up for you.

The stakes have never been higher. And, I am up for the challenge because I believe, as you do, that we have to act now. Join me as I stand up for you, the people of the 50th District. Join me, so together we will do our part to put this country on the right track.
